In 1994, Mr. Antonio Marcos Rodriguez founded “Los Patios” apartments. Formally a family housing known as “The Perera House” and later demolished and rebuilt as an apartment complex.

23 families used to live on “The Perera House”, where they shared facilities and everyday shores such as the use of their community patios, laundry area, and the animal shelter – horses and donkeys used to be their only transportation -. There was also a charcoal shop where the actual “Patio de Carlota la Bailla” now exists, which was formally owned by this lady.

Antonio Marcos used to live on the “The Perera House”. He was born and raised there with his parents, brothers and sisters. 20 years later, he wanted to preserve and beautified the “patios” where he grew up. He kept the structure of the exterior, patios and hallways, incorporating typical Andalusian tiles all over. The apartments were totally rebuilt and adapted to nowadays commodities, thou they still preserve the beauty of its past.

The actual patios are called after some old neighbors of “The Perera House”. “Patio Regla la fandanga”, “Patio de Maria Barba”, “Patio de Manuela Teresa Ramona (Barrilete)” and “ Patio de Carlota la Bailla”, this last one in memory of the founder’s mother Mrs. Carlota Rodriguez Martin-Arroyo, who was known as “Carlota la Bailla”.

In the summer of 2004, an expansion took place thanks to the acquisition of a continuous property. Seven apartments were added, as well as an additional patio and a local shop where in July of 2005 the actual cafeteria was inaugurated.
